This is the route your tail rotor cable takes on its way from the tail rotor to the foot pedals.
This is about balancing your tail rotor pullys
(1)
Don't paint the tail rotor blades after
balancing them.
(2)
Drill a small hole in each tail rotor
blade cap.(This allows any built up grease
to exit the cap)
(3)
Make sure you have 1/4"of key
protruding past the slider when holding full
left pedal and 8 degrees,not 24 degrees.
(4)
Full left pedal needs 8 degrees and full
right pedal needs 24 degrees. I've seen
it backwards. It won't hover if it's not right.
(5)
Keep the safety wire slightly loose
around the rod ends so that movement
isn't restricted.
(6)
Check clearance of slider bolts and
linkage after the tail cone is installed.
(7)
Make the tail rotor pitch assembly work
as smooth as possible. The smoother it is,
the easier it will be to fly.
(8)
In a hover, the pedals should be
approximately 1" deflection to the right. This is
about 11 degrees.
(9)
Make sure nothing is close to the tail
rotor belts. Check this three or four times.
It seems like every time I look at a
ship, either the teleflex cable, wires or
antenna cables are laying on the belt.
This is not good!
