Static Port

RotorWay says you don't need one on the ships exterior but we felt we did.

At the very least we know we made an attempt at getting accurate readings on our instruments. There are several locations for this port on peoples ships and we chose to make ours similar to the bell helicopters we've seen locally here in Knoxville.

I'm not sure if it's correct or not but I was told a helicopter has a high pressure side and a low pressure side. Our ship rotates clockwise and that makes the low pressure side on the right side of the ship.

Looking at some certified factory helicopters, I noticed all of them had two static sources just like some planes so this is another area you find out all you can about and then

take YOUR best shot.

If I had it to do over again I think I'd set it up like the ones you see on Mini 500's.
