Shipping Damage
We
had a few boo boo's when the big truck arrived at our location,
some
were from packing and the big one was from the freight company we think.

The nose of the tub was rubbing the seat back all the way from Phoenix in the crate.
The tail boom was mashed on one end from what we think was an idiot on a fork truck.
When we opened the semi truck door the tail boom tube was missing an end, it looked like something hit it and ripped it off as the cardboard was torn where the screws went onto the wood and the tail boom was partially sticking out of the cardboard tube. RotorWay did a great job of packing all this stuff in the crates and there really isn't anything they could have done any different to avoid this type of damage. All the parts that were damaged were made up by RotorWay in time but we had to wait on a new seat back because RotorWay said they didn't have a box to ship us a new one in lol.
The tail boom was a bit of a story because we had to deal with RotorWay on that too. They said to send it back to them and they would ship us a new one but there was a glitch here that wasn't in our favor.
We
paid for the freight and the insurance so we felt we should have
gotten a new tail boom courtesy of the freight company and the option
to buy salvage should have gone to us first.
RotorWay
on the other hand bucked that issue with us for several days
saying
it was their salvage and not ours.
In the end we ended up caving in since we were now in bed with RotorWay and wanted no hard feelings such as delayed parts shipping and flight training problems and such (we wish now we hadn't since they screwed us in the end anyway).
The tail boom was usable with some repair and in the event we ever needed a replacement, it sure would have been nice to have a half priced spare. We still can't help but wonder how much free freight RotorWay got with our insurance money.
Be sure you have an understanding with them, and I'd suggest you get in in writing, prior to shipment or they may profit from you like they did from us.
Once they have your money yer pretty much screwed.
This is our original Seat Back in the box we made to ship it and the other parts back to the factory.
