Roof & Gutter Damage
This gutter on the back of our house along with a small portion of the roof got slammed pretty good by one of the trees.

This is an
inside shot of the damaged area of our roof
that
was supposed to be repaired.
If you look
way back where the truss meets the roof and soffet you can see there
is a gap that appears to be about 3/4 of an inch between the truss
and the roof plywood patch they installed. It would appear that
they didn't bother repairing the broken truss where it was broken
where it sits on the wall which would have taken nothing more than a
simple peice of 2 x 4 or 6 attatched along the truss run.
Whats
going to happen here is the roof not having any support will
undoubtedly sag downward.

These shots show how ragged the roofers cut the shingles off on the roof ends.

The
caulking job matches the metal work
which matches the flashing work
It's no
wonder we have a few leaks.

I'm pretty sure this is the look and style and function these guys were going for.
Somehow something happened because they sure strayed from the plans a bit somewhere along the way

There are several damage spots in the new single job
These pics were taken with just a quick glance around I'm sure if we really took the time to look we would find even more damage to the new shingles.

Another super caulking job |
The guy didn't even go all the way around the pipe |

These are our roof vents for our bath and kitchen. As you can see this too is a pretty rough job here also.

Can you say Zaaaaaaaaa! Crashhhh!! Boommmm! Bang!!!!
This gutter on
the front of the house had a small dent in it you really couldn't see
unless you actually up on the roof so we didn't plan on actually
getting a new one so we could hopefully save some money.
Unfortunately
the roofers got careless
and left a
large container up on the peak for the night. Once the frost set in
that night it slid down the roof and smashed its way through the
gutter and onto the ground. Donna, I and Brandy were all
sitting in the living room and when we heard it. It sounded like
something was scraping along the house and then KaBoom! Donna and I
both had ran like hell toward the back portion of our house. It
litterally scared the BeJevers out of us!. We thought a car was
gonna crash through the wall it was that loud. After catching
our breaths we went outside where we got to see the container that
had crashed from above and also got to visit with some of our
neighbors who also came running to see what had happened.
This shot shows how the gutter guys didn't get the gutter under the roof flashing
on the front of the house. We haven't been able to witness the rear gutter because it's much higher from the ground back there and we don't have a tall enough ladder to get up to it. Instead of doing it right they put the gutters in place on top of it crushing it in random areas. The end result is that water drains out between the gutter and the house which totaly defeats its purpose and will ruin our home.
The guys also put a tremendous bow in each end. We asume to allow the water to drain to both ends and it really looks fugly when your looking at the house roof line from the road.
This end of either the new gutter or the old is pouring water during a rain storm

These shots
show how where the soffet was torn loose from the house
from what
we think was the gutter folks.
We didn't get to see them remove the old gutters but from what our neighbors told us they litterly ripped the gutters off the house. We had our home completely recaulked and painted less than a year ago too so this is a really sad situation.
