Trailer Power Console

This is the heart of our trailers electrical system.

It controls everything from the power tongue jack on the front or the trailer to the rear outside lights. On top of it are our awards we received in 2001 and 2002 at air shows across the eastern part of the country. All the lit up switches are for the 12 volt items it handles and the large brown box is a voltage converter that converts 110AC voltage to 12 DC voltage plus it serves as a battery charger for the trailers main battery. We had to install a cooling fan in the top of the unit to exhaust hot air and an airflow vent in the lower front for fresh air to enter to help keep the unit running cool. Also seen is a generator control switch, 100 vac and 12 vdc outlets and battery condition meter to monitor the batteries on board the trailer. It has two batteries one to maintain and run all the 12 dc items and another that serves as the emergency braking battery. In the event the trailer breaks free from the tow vehicle is pulls a ripcord and locks the trailer breaks up to theoretically stop it. Since this picture we've also gotten lonely and installed a AM/FM radio and speakers. Well get an updated pic on here someday lol.
