Flight Training Phase 2D

Written Test

I studied my arse off for this.

I ordered the ASA computer course and began preparing for my written test. We ordered this course about 5 months before I actually started using it. About a week after using it things weren't adding up. Things in the study material weren't matching up with the correct answers. After digging through the box Donna found a supplement to the course that contained fixes for the mistakes in the study book and the answer section. Well I scrapped that one because there wasn't enough highlighters in the world to correct all the errors.

Here we go again with the course from the King schools. We ordered the King video study course and the computer version too. The videos are excellent and help immensely. The computer course worked great except when I tallied up my scores at the end it would randomly skip different sections and show me having a lesser score than I really had. After talking to Kings Tech Support for a week or so they checked it out and got the same problems with 5 different operating systems like Win 95, Win 98 and so on.  In the end there wasn't a fix and I just had to go with what I had.

Testing day came and I went and laid down $70 bucks for the test. The folks at the testing station were great and explained how the system worked. They put me at a station in a small room with several other testing stations and a guy watching me through a window, I went to work.  The computer setup was pretty close to the ASA and King testing software I used at home so I didn't have any trouble using it at all. I breezed right through the test and was done before I knew it. The fellow in the main office checked out my score and when he said it Donna and I were both amazed lol. I had to ask him twice just to be sure it was my score and not some one elses. His reply was that he was sure it wasn't anyone from todays because out of 5 people that have tested so far I was the only one that passed. Wow, sure glad he didn't tell me that before I went in there lol. Well another step toward getting my license completed and on to RotorWay for Phase III.

I got my hand shook from 4 different high time CFI's for getting this score of 100 % on my written test and got called a Dummy by Bill Orth, Rotorway's Chief Pilot CFI for doing it.
