Overhead Switch Panel Hinge

I'm not really sure but we think we're the only ones that did this.

In the event we ever have to get into the overhead panel to service it, like adding or replacing a switch or something, we didn't like the idea of letting the unit dangle there while we were working on it so we added a hinge to the rear of the panel. It can still be removed easily with just 3 screws and like many other things we did it does add weight but at the same time it also adds a little safety margin in the fact it keeps the wires from getting pulled on by the weight of it pulling down on the connectors and such.

We carry extra fuses in the ship but if something quits working

it's going to be kinda tough to know just which fuse has blown the way it currently configured without having a test light on board.

Eventually we're planning on replacing all the fuses with circuit breakers. That's going to add at least $250.00 dollars minimum so were going to have to wait until we can afford it.

The key switch RotorWay provides is pretty generic,

and needs to be replaced with something better. You can't have a key ring attached to the key because anything more then its weight will pull the key out of it. In otherwords whether the key is in the on or off position it isn't held in place. You could accidently remove the key from the ignition in the on position leaving the ships ignition live.

The decals we used here are tough to see and eventually we plan on making a custom panel with high visibility lettering that shows up well in the daylight and is back lit at night.
