House Damage
October 21st 2005
A neighbor called us just before we left work and told us we had some large branches down that had fallen into the street in front of our home. He said they didn't appear to have hit the house.
So prior to leaving the shop we gathered up a few things we thought we'd need to get the job done. I had an old chain saw that hadn't been run in years but never failed me so I packed it in Mama's truck along with a gas can and we hit the road for the house.
How's this for a happy homecoming on a friday night.
When we drove up the side street we could hardly believe our eyes when we saw our house. The only place big enough to park our truck was in the front yard so dodging tree limbs the whole way in we parked the truck and went on a magical mystery tour of the place.
Looking around the place about all we could say was had the trees went a different direction than they did it sure could have been worse.

This big branch was the scariest of them all because it was wanting to roll into the house. The only thing keeping it from doing so was it was tangled up in the top of the next tree down. |
