Main Rotor Blades Hour Meter

This is a little trick I came across one day

watching the big guys in Gatlinburg, Tennessee,  that give tourist Helicopter rides over the mountains. These guys start their ship up in the morning and don't turn them off until they're done for the day. I asked one of them how they could afford the hobbs time and was told that they used another hour meter to track their rotor blade time and I'm assuming that also means for them their transmission gear boxes.

Our machines idle quite a bit sitting on the ground waiting for warm up and shut down temps.  It only makes sense not to count the time on the blades when they aren't pulling pitch to us to so we added this second hobs meter to keep track of the time on the blades.

This is how we incorperated a switch into the collective to trigger the meter
