Homer's 2004 Fly-In |
Primarily we use this thing as our Heli Tug
We had to buy this thing to tow our helicopter across the gravel and grass at the airpark. It's 2nd use is for towing our fuel cart to and from the heli when we're refueling if it happens to be across rough terrain.
It's 3rd use comes into play using it to run around at the Air Shows and Fly Ins that will allow us to use it. Some places we go to like EAA's Oshkosh and Sun n Fun Events we're not allowed to use anything motorized for running around the shows so don't get the impression if you had one you could like we did because you most certainly can't. They say it's a libility thing but from what I see it's one of those rules that doesn't make much sense. You see children belonging to some of the officials running all over the place on ATV's and Golf Carts but you as an adult not to mention and aircraft owner/displayer are to much of a risk to be allowed to operate one, Go Figure lol. I guess you can tell I'm not to happy with that rule huh! I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with my celebrex habbit but it just might be that I'm lazy lol. They don't have a problem with them Homers and PRA meets so if thats the only places you go your all set.

After we changed the oil and filter we went a step further
and cut the filter apart to see what was inside it. Actually it was such an intricate cute little thing we had to see how it was made lol. Honda makes a nice machine, the oil filter even had a chack valve. We found something inside we didn't expect to find. There was quite a bit of metal fragments inside it. I'm just guessing at this point but maybe thats how all engines are on the first few oil changes. Up until we got into the aviation feild we never dreamed of cutting and oil filter apart to see what it captured. It's hard to imagine this little thing costing $8.00 bucks but from the amount of metal it captured it's well worth it's price.
