Homer's Fly-In

July, 2000

Like the year before we had one hell of a good time.

For us it was the year of DaBus lol. Dave Reisender, a friend of Dave's, Donna and I and another couple from New Jersey, Mike & Marlene, pitched in and rented an RV to stay in for the event. We had a blast and there's a gal in New Jersey that more then likely still has a hangover lol. This year the first day or so it rained like cats and dogs and there was water everywhere. Several folks including us got stuck in the mud and Homer had to yank us all out with his tractor. We bent the steering gear in the RV we rented trying to pull it out with our truck mounted wench, thats a story in itself lol.  After that things dried up and the Fly In was rocking and rolling.

Sorry for the lack of pictures but we parted out most of them to make our builders help section. We got some great video this year but the super duper digital Sony video cam we bought makes crappy pics when you freeze frame it.

As usual John Spurling took a bunch of people for there first ride in a RotorWay helicopter making their day. This year I didn't get a ride in anything, I just sat on the ground helping out where I could and drooled a bit at the ships as they came and went lol.

There were deep discussions about the secondary shaft issue and why RotorWay really went to fuel injection. All of the topics Homer and the others brought up were very interesting to say the least.

Great People! Good Food! and Helicopters everywhere, it was all that and the box it came in!
