Here We Go

We researched the RotorWay ship for several years and the time was finally here for us to get serious about buying one.  We really wanted to wait for a turbo version to come out because we live in the foothills of the Smokys.  RotorWay told us they had no idea when one would be available but they were in fact working on it.  After waiting another year on them patience got the better of us and we decided to to purchase a ship.  We called Brett and got a good price, much less than the list price, from an order that fell through on them so we called NAFCO (National Aircraft Finance Co.) with the figures and we were off and running.  Well being self employed and obtaining a large loan for a toy turned out to be quite a trick lol.  We had to go through all kinds of hockeypuck to get the loan because the first finance company we went to NAFCO had to wait until their board met. Finally a week or so later the board met and after waiting what felt like forever they wouldn't answer their phone so we sent them a fax telling them we were tired of waiting and needed an answer soon so we could either get the ball rolling or go our separate ways.  Shortly thereafter we received a letter from them declining the loan.  The letter said it was due to the fact that we have to high of a debt ratio. HUH!!   Well that sure busted our bubble and something sure isn't right at that company. We were dumbfounded to say the least and after adding up our two bills against our income comes it came out to 21%.  The only one we knew of with less of a debt ratio was our son Karo so go figure lol.  Well, Greentree was another option and a morning or two later and we faxed them an application and that afternoon we had a loan approved. Kewl!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Remember the deal on the ship we told you about, Well it was sold during all the jerking around we went through.  <POUT> <Kicking Pebbles> <Subsucking>.   Brett who was aware of what we had been through (beings that he went through it with us lol) said that he would give us the same deal on the next ship that came available and we were off and running.  HOT DAMN!!

Then after we thought we had it going on along came another hurdle to overcome but this time from RotorWay.

Somehow when talking to Brett we understood the shipping price was included in the price he quoted us and when the loan company called RotorWay to confirm the price it was more.  That meant we had to come up with another $1,200 or so dollars and to be quite honest it put a bad feeling in our mouths about RotorWay because we were sure we had the total price right.

We put the whole thing on hold for a bit because we felt we were getting doped like some of the car salesman down the road do with people.  After a few days we called Greentree and asked if the amount could be added to the loan and got a "No Problem" so we decided what the hell and went thru with it and called to RotorWay to get it going.
