ELT Units

This is a post I saw on a site someplace

 
 Unless they revise 91.207 to read "airCRAFT" instead of "airPLANE",
there will be no requirement, enforceable or otherwise, to have an elt in a sport helicopter. 
Thinking back thru 5 ships in the past, whether training or flying for
'tips', not one had an installed elt.  Not that it really bugged me, but
the question did occasionally come up.
Whether it's a good enough idea to bolt one in or not is yet up to the
owner.

The ELT thing , the way i read it, you have to have one, again alot seems
to depend on who you talk to.
