Door Hinge Shims

 

These were something we came up with to cover up my mistake of making the hinges wrong.

 
I cut the metal using Rotorways pattern
and when we went to mount our doors I found they weren't long enough to reach between the doors and the post to mount them.

I left the parts on the doors like they were and built shims made from 1/2" thick plexiglass to make up the length for the parts.


These look pretty slick and like there supposed to be there. 

We get a lot of comments on them from people thinking there neat until I tell them why there really there lol. To get that glass like polished look on the parts you take a torch with a long blue flame and let the tip of the blue flame run along the edge at a fairly fast rate, it makes it look really neat like you worked your butt off polishing it lol.
