Infinity 1 Aircraft Control Stick Grip
Description
You've spent years and thou$and$ on your dream machine! Do you imagine flying your pride and joy with a Military Style Control Stick Grip, or with just a soft bike grip, ski pole handle or dowel rod that you stuck a couple cheap switches in, which would be labor intensive to make and wire at best, that turn ON (make contact) if you bump them 1/200 of an inch?!?
The Infinity 1 Military Stick Grip is a high quality original, similar to the grip used in the F-4 Phantom, F-15 Eagle, A-6 Intruder, Bat Plane, SeaQuest, etc., but is about 8% smaller than the military versions to better fit the average size hand without a glove, and has 6 Switches/9 to 13 Functions!
Thousands have already been installed in over 50 models of aircraft (even a 314 foot custom Yacht and a submarine!). FAA certified in the new Micco and Eagle FAA certified aircraft, field approved in Bell 206, Hughes 500 and Hiller helicopters, Aero Commander 500 A's, Mooney's, Cessna's, Swift's and in blimps. Standard issue in several of todays finer Sport Aircraft Kits. Can be seen in the prototype Legend, Sherpa, Lionheart, the prototype production Rutan Boomerang, and many others. Also, installed in Wayne Handley's new turbo-prop powered Turbo Raven airshow demonstration plane (see cover story of April '99 issue of Sport Aviation magazine, page 22), in Duane Upton's Swift of the Swift Magic Team, and in Bill Cherwin's yellow T-34 of the Lima Lima Flight Team. Select custom instrument panel manufacturers provide the grips as standard issue with their panels. Used in simulators at Edwards AFB and by the FAA in Oklahoma City. Used in crop dusters, for SWAT bomb retrieval robots, Toyota Camry engine assembly line machining, fire trucks to aim and fire the foam nozzle and operate other accessories, and much, much more.
Our left, center or right handed (the only ones in the world) 6 or 9 switch/15 function customizable Throttle Handle and 3 lever Quadrant with individual lever friction (HOT) are forthcoming ($24,000 to go to finish the tooling)!
INFINITY designed this grip with safety, comfort, functionality and durability in mind. The anatomical ergonomic design is contoured to the shape of your fingers, and includes a fatigue reducing hand rest at the base. The non-glare black finish is abrasion and impact resistant for long life, yet easily repairable. Stick Grips and Throttle Handles with switches built into them greatly reduce pilot workload, increases pilot efficiency, de-clutters the instrument panel and makes flying the aircraft safer, among other things. The term "HOTAS" is used in the military world and stands for 'Hands-On-Throttle and Stick'. "HOT" is 'Hands-On-Throttle'. "HOS" is 'Hands-On-Stick'.
Installation
This stick grip has a 1" diameter hole in the bottom to allow your tube to fit 2.125" up inside. A 29/64" hole is drilled 0.5" from the top of your tube, at the proper clock code to fit your hand and wrist, for the lower boss and screw to clamp through and the grip halves to clamp over. Spacers are available if your aircraft stick tube OD is less than 1" (i.e. - 3/4" or 7/8" OD). For the larger 1.125" or 1.25" OD tubes such as used in military aircraft, T-34's and Falco's, a custom 5" long spacer will fit inside your tube ID nicely (just provide your tube ID). A simple installation drawing is provided. The grip splits in half for easy maintenance. Replacement parts can be easily installed by you and are available by simply contacting INFINITY Aerospace for current replacement pricing.
