Lower Right Rear Cowl Panel
You
trim this panel in all the way around so it's a lot easier
to
do than the upper panels but it's still a bugger lol.
When you cut the lower edges you have to make a decision about what to do at the rear of the radiator. I've seen many different methods here so your on you own.
We wanted it to seal as best as it could to avoid air running back and turning the tail boom into an air scoop so that's how we arrived at the way we did it, but in looking at it now maybe that would be a good idea because it would bring in a small amount of fresh air possibly helping to cool the tail rotor belt bearings.

We had a major wreck on these lower panels.
We drilled the Dzus holes at 2 1/2 centers. We had to redo every other hole and that was a lot of extra work so be careful not to make the same mistake we did. When we laid out the holes we did the top panels at 2 1/2 for screws and nut plates and forgot all about Dzus holes being at 5 inch centers, that set us back a week or two for sure lol.
