75 Hour Service
No big deal just another repeat of a 25 hour service procedures
Everything checked out great. We did find a potential problem that seems to have resurfaced once again. On the passengers side you can see impressions of the panel screws and Dzus fasteners in the insulation on the fuel tanks. The pilots side had the same thing going on plus one of the stiffeners we added to the inside of the upper panel is rubbing on the left hand fuel tank. We can see a powder on the fuel tank where the brace contacts it. What's causing it is on hot days the panels heats up from the engine heat and the radiator fan creates such a vacuum that it sucks the side panels in.
We thought we had solved this problem when we added the reinforcement braces to the inside of the upper and lower panels. Our cure is going to be something like a thick foam/rubber length of something about an inch thick and 2 inches wide running the entire length of the contact area between the panels and the tanks hopefully solving the problem. When we come up with something we'll post it in this section. Once again we pondered cutting the factory air holes into the lower panels but when our panels are off we get a 10 to 20 degree rise of engine oil temperature. That's out for sure unless we were to add something like an oil cooler to the system which would add weight and something else to the mix to have troubles with. Our dolley sure came in handy working on the ship especially checking the valves. It allows us to raise the ship up off the ground a couple of feet and adjust it to any fore and aft angle so we don't have to do so much bending over while we work on the ship making it alot easier on us.

Measure & Adjust Valve Lash & Inspect Valve Train
Also, if any initial measurement is in excess of .008", inspect the lash cap for wear & repeat valve adjustment at one hour intervals until the lash stabilizes. If repeated excess lash is encountered, all related valve train components should be inspected.
Check spring retainer, check gap on spring keeper & check valve guide for play.
